Israel’s health tech sector is home to over 1,600 companies and has attracted $5 billion in investments over the past two years. However, there is a significant gap remains between clinical expertise and tech innovation. In Northern Israel, there is untapped potential to bring innovation directly into clinical practice.

Gateway to Health Tech: Tzafon Edition is designed to strengthen the health tech landscape in Northern Israel. This program equips physicians, medical professionals, and paramedical professionals with the knowledge, skills, practical tools, and connections they need to bridge the gap between medicine and innovation—driving real impact in healthcare.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of Israel’s health tech ecosystem with a focus on Northern Israel’s growing sector. The program combines foundational knowledge—key players, technologies, and industry trends—with practical skills like networking, LinkedIn & CV building, and professional storytelling.

Exposure to Health Tech

Explore Northern Israel’s health tech landscape, key players, and strategies to address healthcare challenges through technology. Deep dive into sub-sectors, trends, innovation in academia, government policies, VC funding, AI infrastructure & more.

Ecosystem Access

Learn about collaboration models with health tech companies and innovation hubs across Northern Israel. Build meaningful connections with hospitals, local healthcare organizations, and entrepreneurs to actively shape the future of healthcare innovation in the region.

Program Candidates

Gateway to Health Tech is for medical and paramedical professionals at different career stages, from clinical-year medical students, interns, and residents to senior physicians.

Participants must either be residents of northern Israel or employed within the region who are committed to attend a minimum of 80% of the sessions (at least 6 in-person sessions and 2 online sessions).

Applications close on April 16th, 2025. Candidates will receive a response by the end of April.

The program spans four months, from June 2025 – September 2025.

The program consists of both in-person and virtual sessions to accommodate diverse schedules and create impactful learning experiences:

  • 8 in-person sessions at The Tzafon Medical Center (TZMC), a leader in medical innovation in the north
  • 3 online sessions for extended learning
  • Networking opportunities with key stakeholders, local health tech companies, and innovation experts

The total cost of participation is 500 NIS.

Who were our past participants?

Our previous Gateway to Health Tech cohort brought together a diverse group of medical professionals, including attending physicians (42%), medical students (25%), interns (16%), and residents (16%).

Participants came from a wide range of medical fields—anesthesia, emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurosurgery, pediatrics, radiology, and more—representing top hospitals across Israel, including Ichilov, Sheba-Tel Hashomer, Rambam, Hadassah, Assuta, and Belinson.

Through the program, they gained the skills, strategies, and connections to play an active role in shaping the future of Israel’s health tech ecosystem.
